Revlon Oh My Magenta

Just catching Pink Wednesday before it's gone. I got this polish on clearance for about 2 dollars. I'm not sure if this shade is being discontinued. I swore this was a creme until I swatched it and saw the shimmer. Not much to say, just enjoy the pics.

Pink & Purple Gradient

Sorry this is so sloppy but I just wanted to make a post before it hits midnight here on the West Coast. I used China Glaze Innocence for the base and then sponged on Awakening & Coconut Kiss also by China Glaze.
I promise to have something of better quality tomorrow.

Floral Stamping

Check out those stamping skills!!! I felt like I did a pretty good job for it being my first time attempting a stamping manicure. This post is for Floral Monday on Polish-aholics Anonymous. I used NYX Girls Between Mauve And Purple as my base color. That is a really long name, isn't it? I used the Bundle Monster plate BM14. On my accent finger, I stamped with Julep Natalie, and I stamped with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Silver Sweep on the rest of my fingers. I really liked the way this came out! Sorry about the bubbles, my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri has not been the best lately. More pics!!
The silver makes things go out of focus sometimes.

My favorite finger!

Glitterbomb Franken by ABOP!!!

Sunlight.
First off, I want to say thanks to all 33 followers of the blog!! I remember saying, "If I could just have 5 followers, I'd be happy." Well, you have surpassed my expectations!

So ABOP sent me a mini bottle of her franken shown here, and I decided to wear it as an accent finger. It's the only thing redeeming this really sloppy manicure. On all nails, I'm wearing NYX Girls Luscious Green, which can be a little brushstroke-y, and it definitely has a gold undertone, so cool-toned gals may not be the biggest fan of this polish. I just put the franken over the green polish to cover up some smudging. The only reason I kept this on for 2 days was because I was mesmerized by the sparkles. More pics, you say? Well, I aim to please!
Direct Sunlight.

Shade. Ignore my thumb; I was playing with some stripers then I threw NYX Girls Venetian Glass over my doodles.

Indoors.

Indoors. OOOOH!! Sparkles!

My Bad Luck Polish

Late Afternoon Sunlight
Meet 212-Sephora. When this polish originally came out, I heard so much about it I took a trip to Sephora just to get it. And my birthday gift from Sephora. I put this on once and decided I hated it. It sat very still in my tiny collection for months. As I expanded my collection this spring, I came upon this polish again. I ignored it for a few more months and decided to wear it this past week. I put it on Tuesday afternoon while I was at work over one coat of Wet n Wild black. I liked it better now because it wasn't as sheer, but I still wasn't in love with it. Wednesday was moving day for me, since I had to switch dorms for the summer. I ended up breaking almost all of my nails while wearing this polish. Now I have to grow them all out again because I have nubbins!! You'll see them soon. But if you like this polish, scroll down to see the rest of the pics.

Flakies are more visible in the shade.
May your fingernails never break,
J

Milani 3D - Part 1

Today, I bring to you 2 polishes from the Milani 3D holographic collection, Hi-Res and 3D.
Hi-Res is a blue-toned purple with holographic particles throughout. It looks great, but I hate the formula. It has that soft squishy feel where it feels like it never dries, even with topcoat. If you apply really thin layers, it helps, the feeling doesn't go away. Be sure to wear top coat with this or it will chip in a matter of minutes.

Milani - 3D

3D is a gold that I don't care for. It feels even softer than Hi-Res, and it never completely dried on me. I'm not a big fan of the color, and it just doesn't appear that holographic. To me, it appears more metallic than holographic. This applied very lumpy and I had a hard time getting it smooth. On my ring finger, the polish globbed up near the tip of my nail. I most likely will get rid of this color.

So far, I'm not a fan of this collection. How do you feel about this collection?

Nfu say what? Oh!

Yes, you do spy a Nfu Oh bottle in my hand. And yes, that is the highly lemmed (is that a word?) #65. I am in love with this polish....in the sunlight. Inside, it's not bad, it just looks kinda "icy" but not really holo. I compared the holo-ness of the polish without topcoat and with SH Insta Dri. The pics speak for themselves.
No topcoat, sunlight.

No topcoat, shade.

Topcoat, sunlight.

No topcoat, sunlight.

Spellbinding Nails Giveaway

I totally forgot to enter and blog about this giveaway, so enter here for a chance to win an amazing giveaway. It ends soon so don't delay!

Tiresome Patchwork Mani

I would love to say that I came up with the idea for this mani, but I didn't. Erika from Chloe's Nails did. You can see her tutorial here. I decided to try it with 4 colors my first time even trying it, which was not the best idea. DUH!! So here are some quick pics from my iPod (I didn't have my camera with me and I didn't want my mani to get messed up before I got to take pics) so please excuse the terrible quality.

Color Club Worth the Risque, China Glaze Strawberry Fields & White on White, Color Club Revvvolution, & China Glaze Techno Teal
I'll try to get some better pics later and update this post.

Happy Polishing & Father's Day,
J
 Edit: NEW PICS!!!

China Glaze Innocence

So if I ever have a giveaway contest and I ask what my favorite polish is, you should definitely answer China Glaze Innocence. Doesn't it look perfect? So the color isn't exactly accurate above, the picture is a little too warm. This is 3 coats to eliminate most of the VNL, but it's worth the 3 coats for me.
In sunlight.
Pretty color accurate.
So all I have to say about this, is I love it!!
Happy Polishing,
J
Edit: I got the Nfu Ohs I ordered before I imposed my no-buy so expect to see swatches of 52, 64 and 65 soon!!! And one of my Cherry Culture orders came in!

I Guess that Makes Me a Nerd...

Meet my most neglected blue, Nerds Need Love Too. As you can see this is a Wet n Wild color and it is a gorgeous blue! The bottle makes it look like there's shimmer or pearl, but this is pretty much your basic creme.
Coats: 2
Dry Time: Pretty Fast. I think this dried in 5 minutes without top coat.
Opacity: Great. You can do one thick coat if you prefer that to 2 thin coats.
Formula: Awesome. No goopiness or streaks.
Now for the design:
It's pretty simple, just straight lines, all done with Kiss Nail Art polishes I picked up at Rite Aid.

Very simple, but it's lovely.
Happy Polishing,
J

Back with a Sponged One...

With flash.
So I've never said this before, but China Glaze Innocence is my favorite nail polish. Hands down! It's the perfect anytime color! This is three coats of China Glaze Innocence with a coat of Revlon Quick dry top coat over each coat. I wanted this to look kind of icy and cool so I sponged on Cover Girl City Lights at the tips. Then I lightly sponged on China Glaze Dorothy Who. I sponged on some Kiss Nail Art in silver glitter and another sponging of City Lights. I topped it all with top coat. I love it!!! It's the only thing keeping me happy right now since I just broke my bottle of China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I'm on a no-buy until September so I'll have to wait until then to get my new bottle. More pics below.

You can see the Ruby Pumps that got on my index finger.
Happy Polishing,
