Purple Franken

Hello all! I'm back after a very long, very unscheduled hiatus! You wouldn't believe the madness that was happening...but you didn't come here to hear me talk...you want polish!

Today's polish is a gorgeous franken made by Becca over at Franken Femme! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, click the link and follow her blog! She makes creative and gorgeous frankens!

I just died. So pretty! This is 3 coats on the nail wheel. Those sparkles are to die for.

And because it reminded me of OPI Visions of Sugarplum, I did a quick comparison. The OPI is more blue-toned and doesn't have as much dimension as the franken...which I should really name. Any suggestions?

Don't forget to go visit Franken Femme!

Back to Blue

I bring to you today one of my favorite layering combos ever! First, the creme, the famous Nails Inc Baker St!

Baker Street
Oh yes, the glorious blue! Nothing will ever compare for me...

Baker Street
I drool every time I wear it! I may need a backup bottle...

Baker Street
And it dries so shiny! No topcoat here, just two coats of glorious blue!

Now, what makes everything better? Flakies! I finally used my bottle of Nfu Oh 53!
Nfu Oh 53
I could just drown in this polish! It's so pretty! It's like a glass-flecked polish had a baby with a flakie polish like Nubar 2010 or Essie Shine of the times!

Nfu Oh 53
Taken in filtered sunlight
So pretty! At least it is to me!

Nfu Oh 53
I took this pic in the shadow so the flakies would show better.

And, since I know somebody out there wants to know if this gets opaque by itself, I used 3 coats of the Nfu Oh by itself on my thumb. I still had some VNL, but my short-nailed friends will be able to wear this with ease. Beware that it is sort of thick, so I would definitely recommend layering rather than building it up by itself.

Nfu Oh 53
Side shot of my thumb! Catch a load of the shimmer and the flakie color shift!

Nfu Oh 53
Looks so pretty! You can hardly even see the VNL!

Nfu Oh 53
And who doesn't love macro shots? I know I love them!

I hope you enjoyed this splash of color in the middle of winter, and if you want to know anything, just ask below in the comments! I purchased Baker Street from Sephora and Nfu Oh 53 from Fabuloustreet.

Happy Polishing,
Janelle

Red All Over!

Today's mani was so much fun to wear that I wore it for almost a full week! I have been obsessed with red as of lately (I'm currently wearing Zoya Sooki on my toes) so this was an awesome mani for me! This post is pretty picture heavy, so it may take a while to load!

I started off with a base of Nfu Oh 551, which is a blood red creme, then added a layer of Nfu Oh 59 over that. Of course, I couldn't stop there so I layered Ozotic Pro 518 over that.  Click after the jump to see pics!

Nfu Oh 51 + Zoya Neeka

Soooooooooooooooooooooo.....if you are still out there reading, this is an awesome polish combination. I took a trillion pictures, so I'm gonna put a break in here so people with slower computers can load this page eventually. Click below the jump to see one coat of Nfu Oh 51  over 2 coats of Zoya Neeka.

My Bad Luck Polish

Late Afternoon Sunlight
Meet 212-Sephora. When this polish originally came out, I heard so much about it I took a trip to Sephora just to get it. And my birthday gift from Sephora. I put this on once and decided I hated it. It sat very still in my tiny collection for months. As I expanded my collection this spring, I came upon this polish again. I ignored it for a few more months and decided to wear it this past week. I put it on Tuesday afternoon while I was at work over one coat of Wet n Wild black. I liked it better now because it wasn't as sheer, but I still wasn't in love with it. Wednesday was moving day for me, since I had to switch dorms for the summer. I ended up breaking almost all of my nails while wearing this polish. Now I have to grow them all out again because I have nubbins!! You'll see them soon. But if you like this polish, scroll down to see the rest of the pics.

Flakies are more visible in the shade.
May your fingernails never break,
J
