Pretty & Polished Comparison

I'm back with nail photos! Finally! So yesterday Ashley asked me to do a comparison of Pretty & Polished's Jawbreaker and Party on My Yacht. I'm still using my old camera, so this is the best I can do!

At first glance in the bottles, you can see that Jawbreaker's base color isn't as white as Party on my Yacht.
Jawbreaker is on my thumb, middle, and pinky fingers while Party on my Yacht is on my index and ring fingers. Both are shown with 2 coats, after which, you will still have VNL. I don't mind it, though! You can see the slight difference in base colors here, but I promise, it's more apparent in real life.
Sorry, this pic sucks soooo bad! But anyway, the glitter is clearly different in the two. Party on my Yacht has mainly small round glitter with a few strands of bar glitter. Jawbreaker has varied sizes of hex glitter and some microglitter as well as a few strands of the same green bar glitter. Do you need both? Ummmm....I did. Jawbreaker is slightly harder to apply because of the larger glitter, but both apply pretty will without glitter clumping. You can purchase these polishes here when her Etsy shop reopens.

Wow....it was a rough first post, but I'm glad to have something to post!

Urban Decay on Hautelook!

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up! Urban Decay is on Hautelook today! They have Book of Shadows IV for $29 and the Stash 24/7 Glide On Eyeshadow Pencil Set for $12! They also have the old packaging for the primer potion and the Sparkling Body Powders in Cocoa, Honey, and Marshmallow. It appears that Urban Decay is getting rid of the Body Powders because they are on sale on their site as well. Get them now for $9! OK, I'll stop promoting Urban Decay now, but click here to be directed to the sale on Hautelook.

Happy Monday everyone!

Oh You're Alive...

No wait, it's me who's alive. Today makes exactly 4 months since I last posted. Sorry! I really missed blogging! I got weighed down with classes (I'm graduating with a Bachelor's in Biology in June!) and then my camera went  "Kaput"! So I'm hoping to have enough saved to buy a new camera buy the end of February, so I probably won't be blogging with any nail pics before then, but I promise to be back before March ends! If anyone wants to do a guest post or just send me pics of their nails so I can post them, you can email them to life.nailpolish@yahoo.com or you can just enjoy the silence from my blog for another month. Hope to show you guys pics before then!

News

Sorry for the lack of updates this summer, but Summer School is kicking my butt. Plus, I wanted to post this weekend, but I didn't have the time because I had a wedding to attend in San Diego. I'm trying to get a post up tonight or tomorrow, so I'll be posting soon, and I am working on putting a giveaway and a contest together, so I haven't forgotten about you guys. Hopefully, I'll be back to posting regularly soon! Love you guys!!

Beautiful Blue Monday

I can't believe I haven't shown you guys this polish yet!! It's so beautiful! I love it so much, and it applies perfectly. If you do thick coats, it's a one-coater. Otherwise, two thin coats will suffice. And it dries super fast! I bring you none other than Revlon Midnight Affair.

Of course, it looks almost black in some lighting, but in the sun, it is so hard for me to keep my eyes off it. Hope you love this as much as I do!
Happy Polishing,
J

Folica Deal

Just wanted to let you guys know that Folica has a deal where you can save $40 by signing up to recycle your old blow dryer! Click here to be directed to this deal. I've been procrastinating on getting a new blow dryer for months now, so I bought a Solia hair dryer today for 44.99 with the coupon code, originally 159.95, but on sale for 84.99.

And no, I am not associated with Folica, nor are they compensating me for blogging about this.

Quick Update

Sorry for my absence, but it's been a hectic summer! Anyway just wanted to show you guys one of my latest acquisitions, OPI Bubble Bath!! And I managed to get the original formula!!
Indoors, no flash, artificial light.
I'm such a sucker for these kinds of colors. It's really sheer and milky, so it took 4 coats to get it to look like this. And there was still VNL.
Stamped with Color Club Revvvolution. Indoors, no flash.
I used M.A.S.H. plate m57, which I believe is the same as Konad m57. I felt pretty good about this stamping since I hadn't done full nail designs before.

You can't see it in the picture, but in the sunlight, the holo particles in Revvvolution were so sparkly and awesome!! That's it for now!!
Happy Polishing,
J
